Best Convertibles of 2018

Cruise in the summer breeze this 2018.

This year, we’ve been grateful for the great Summer weather we’ve been having lately, but to truly have fun in the sun you need the right convertible to provide you with the best sunny weekend drives.

So, here at CarCliq, we discuss, in our opinion, the best convertibles of 2018; from the BMW 4 Series Convertible to the Mazda MX-5.

1. MINI Convertible
MINI is recognised for their “go-karting” feel when handling the car, however, with the addition of the wind in your hair, this simply adds to the effect.

When you take the roof down, it folds quickly and efficiently into the rear of the car. However, we do have to say it impacts the boot space and rear legroom – so we say to treat it as a two-seater.

2. Mercedes C-Class Convertible
With a long-lasting reputation of building sophisticated convertibles, the C-Class Convertible allows Mercedes to maintain their title.

The AMG is a great car if you enjoy the thrills of the road, although we’d recommend choosing one of the smaller engines, as not only does this guarantee you lower running costs, but also better driver comfort.

3. Mazda MX-5
Rear drive – and you’re destined for a great drive regardless of the roof being up or down. The Mazda MX-5 has been elevated to be the world’s best-selling two-seater sports car, with around half of all being sold in Europe going to British buyers.

The fabric roof can be manually stored behind the driver and passenger.

4. BMW 4 Series Convertible
We consider this to be the true comfort-focused cruiser, so your Sunday evenings are booked with this sweet ride.

It replaced the old 3 Series Convertible and uses the 4 Series Coupe body and interior – with the difference being its three-piece folding metal roof, which tucks away nicely into the boot.

5. Jaguar F-Type
With it ticking all the boxes in the style category, the F-Type has got to be one of the trendiest cars on the road. You can choose your power source with a selection of either two supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engines, a 5.0-litre V8 or a smaller 2.0-litre four-pot – whatever one you decide it makes it feel fast and sound incredible.

The roof folds away speedily and with the wind deflector in place – a motorway journey is impeccable.

6. Porsche 718 Boxster
If you’re looking for a fun ride, you need the Porsche 718 Boxster, because even between the two engine options, the 296bhp 2.0-litre or more powerful 345bhp 2.5-litre Boxster S – you’re guaranteed to love the experience!

The roof of the Boxster folds in nine seconds and can be functioned even at low speeds, whilst it also contains pop-up rollover hoops, boosting safety.
To conclude, we all deserve to enjoy these rare summer rays Britain is soaking up at the moment, so why not enjoy it in true style with one of the best convertibles of 2018.
