Just arrived in stock at RFH Classics we are pleased to offer this distinguished 1964 Wolseley 6/110 Mk II finished in the rich and very period Maroon B. The paintwork of this beautifully styled classic remains clean and very presentable with light and entirely acceptable patina for a sixty year old Wolseley. , The 6/110 occupies a special place in British motoring history as the last of the big Wolseleys – BMCs flagship luxury saloon of the early 1960s. Launched in 1961 and styled by Pininfarina, it shared its handsome proportions with the Austin Westminster and Vanden Plas Princess but was trimmed and finished to Wolseleys own upmarket standards. Powered by BMCs smooth 2.9-litre straight-six, the later Mk II version introduced in 1964 is widely regarded as the best resolved of the line. It benefitted from a floor change gearbox, revised suspension for improved ride and handling as well as an uprated braking system. Today survivors of this big classic are very low with this particular car noted by the owners club as being the earliest MKII known to them, a delightful distinction for any collector. , Our example, registration 899 UJO, is equipped with the rare 4-speed manual gearbox and features a beautifully appointed Cream Leather interior sourced from a Vanden Plas adding a touch of period luxury that is entirely in keeping with the models character. The cabin presents very well, complementing the Maroon exterior and emphasising the cars gentlemanly demeanour. , The accompanying history file is both interesting and detailed. It confirms the car previously passing hands in Dorset for £14,000 as well as containing extensive documentation of restoration works carried out between 2013 and 2015. It was during this period that the cars original two-tone colour scheme was amended to the single-colour Maroon B finish it wears today, a change that has been executed to a good standard and remains wholly presentable. The Wolseley arrived with us in part exchange for a Vanden Plas, further underlining its appeal to enthusiasts of the marque. , A rare opportunity to acquire a well-kept example of one of BMCs finest luxury saloons — and quite possibly the earliest surviving Mk II known to the club. , RFH Classics are proud to be Bedfordshires largest independent classic car dealer with over 35 years of experience supplying quality vehicles you can buy with confidence.
