It sits above the standard STI and even the Spec C in terms of motorsport intent. The RA "Record Attempt" name comes from a Nürburgring lap: a prototype reportedly did 7:59.41, breaking into sub-8 minute territory for a production-derived car. In the 2005 Nürburgring 24-hour race, a nearly production Spec-C Type RA finished 2nd in class, showing its capability.
