Hello and welcome to the sale of this gorgeous Morris Minor Traveller. , This local car has come from long term ownership and is now sadly only available due to bereavement. It is obviously tax and MOT exempt making it a great value ownership prospect, and comes with a very large and comprehensive history file. , Within the history file is a heritage certificate, certifying that it is still the original engine fitted, which is a nice touch. There are also many old MOT certificates, along with multiple invoices, receipts and photographs over the decades fully documenting any servicing and repair work carried out. There is even a hand written diary from previous owners giving further evidence of care. Most notable are several large receipts for expenditure at the renowned Charles Ware Morris Minor centre, which in its day was very much the place for a Minor to be repaired. Documented work includes but is not limited to various bodywork repairs, fitment of upgraded disc brakes and servo assistance, seat belts, electronic ignition, gearbox rebuild, and much more. There is also a record of a new speedo being fitted by Charles Ware in 2019, at approx 74k miles. Now showing an indicated 13k miles, we can assume the total mileage is in the region of 87k. , What makes this car particularly charming is that it has never been totally restored all in one go- but it has received much love and expenditure as and when required. It has certainly been subject to various bodywork repairs, all to a good standard a long time ago, and it still looks great today in its smart black coachwork. Black is rare to find on a traveller, and the red pinstripe compliments the red leather interior very nicely. The woodwork is not recent either but again it is all in fantastic condition and in no need of attention. The whole exterior just looks really smart and presentable, with a few little marks here and there giving an honest patina without it looking like it was painted yesterday and covering up dramas! There is a small amount of paint flaking on the bonnet side strips, which can be left as is or I can arrange to be painted if desired. The chrome is all in nice condition, as is the glass, the wheels, the original style number plates, the lamps, the cool windscreen visor, in fact pretty much everything. It has recently been professionally valeted so is looking very fresh inside and out, and the gleaming paintwork retains a deep shine having been beautifully machine polished. , , Underneath it is in a very good solid condition, again I would not say it has been nut and bolt restored under there but it is clean and tidy with evidence of quality older repairs and some light surface rust on various exposed components like the leaf springs, as you would expect. It is not covered in recent under seal like many that you see and there is absolutely nothing to hide or give cause for concern. , The smart red interior is also in great condition overall, with good trims, headlining and carpets, along with some honest wear to the drivers seat. For the purposes of originality we have chosen to leave the seat as is for now, but I am happy to arrange a visit to the trimmers should the new owner desire an improvement. , The 948cc engine fires up from cold with a little choke and settles into that lovely burble, and distinctive cheeky rasp from the exhaust that only Minors can make! It stops, steers and drives as well as a Minor ever could hope to do so. The controls all feel good, obviously there is no power steering but the steering is not particularly heavy, and neither is the clutch. It just feels like an old Minor should! , The car will have a pre sale inspection in the workshop before it leaves. , To sum up this is an extremely honest, attractive and endearing example of the ever popular and iconic Morris Minor Traveller, with an excellent history file and is ready to use and enjoy. This has to be one of the most practical and proper classics that you can buy, and I am sure the new owner will be very pleased. , Part exchange considered, nationwide delivery available. , , ,
