With us at RFH Classics we are delighted to offer this beautifully presented 1969 (G) MGC Roadster finished in the crisp and timeless shade of Snowberry White complemented perfectly with a Black Leather interior with featuring White piping. A wonderfully honest and correctly specified example, this MGC has clearly benefited from careful ownership and sympathetic improvement resulting in a car that remains faithful to its factory origins while being thoroughly usable and rewarding on todays roads. , Unusually for a car of this age it has had just five owners from new with the most recent custodian acquiring it in 2020. During his ownership the MGC has been the subject of extensive refurbishment and mechanical attention, carried out with an evident respect for originality rather than unnecessary modification. Works include a clutch slave cylinder, fuel pump, brake master cylinder, a comprehensive braking system overhaul, gearbox service, new original specification steel wheels fitted with correct Dunlop tyres, a new hood cover and frame and a complete stainless steel exhaust system. Of particular note to this car is that it now features the discreet hydraulic power steering upgrade something which transforms low speed manoeuvrability while retaining the character of the car. , Cosmetically, the car has also received significant recent investment with over £4,000 spent in July 2024 on paint correction and rust treatment resulting in a finish that presents extremely well while remaining entirely in keeping with the cars age and character. Importantly, the car has been restored to its original factory specification, a detail confirmed by the accompanying Heritage Certificate and helps set this example apart. , Built over the 18th and 19th of March 1969, this MGC was dispatched on 21st March 1969 to its supplying dealer, Dickinson & Adams of Leagrave Road, Luton, Bedfordshire, before being registered shortly afterwards on 15th April 1969. The short interval between build, dispatch and registration suggests this may well have been a car built to order for its first owner, a pleasing detail that adds further interest to its story. , The history file held in our offices covers the later years of the car, although regrettably earlier documentation has not survived. That said, the condition, specification and quality of the work undertaken speak volumes for the care this MGC has received over the years. For those less familiar with the model, the MGC Roadster was MGs answer to demands for greater performance featuring the distinctive 3.0-litre straight six engine derived from the Austin-Healey 3000. Offering strong torque, effortless cruising and a more relaxed long-legged character than the four-cylinder MGB, the MGC remains one of the most underrated British sports cars of its era. Today, well-sorted examples such as this are increasingly appreciated for their usability, rarity and presence on the road. , Particularly pleasing here is the fact that this car retains its period correct 15 pressed steel road wheels with the proper profile and chrome wheel trims, details that are so often lost but which contribute greatly to the cars authentic appearance. The restoration has been carried out with restraint and understanding, resulting in a car that feels correct, charming and cohesive, rather than over-restored. As with all of our cars, this MGC Roadster will be carefully inspected and prepared prior to sale. We regularly supply vehicles throughout the UK and, in certain cases, considerably further afield, and are happy to discuss nationwide delivery or export arrangements to suit.
