Hello and welcome to the sale of this beautiful MG B Roadster. , Supplied new on the 1st day of the W registration in 1980, this car has been cherished and virtually unused and carefully stored for the vast majority of its lifetime. It comes with a large history file, covering expenditure and work carried out over the decades with invoices, old MOTs, tax discs and previous keeper notes, all importantly documenting the genuine and ultra low 19500 miles on the clock! There is a documented story to the vehicle, which was bought as one of a matching pair of cars for husband and wife. CFN 750W was used on the road, and this car CFN 749W was stored unused in the garage with just 17 miles on the clock for at least the first 10 years of its life, before falling into enthusiast ownership and subsequently cherished and preserved. Fascinating! It is a true survivor and these cars rarely come along in such condition and with such solid provenance!, , Believed to be un welded and vastly original, the bodywork and shell are in fabulous order, with no corrosion to be found. The solid red paintwork looks great, very sharp and fresh without looking restored, all finished in the original colour of Carmine red. All the bumpers, lights and trims are in excellent order, and the panels are straight and true with no dings, dents or scrapes. The lights and glass even retain the period security etching of the registration number. The original rostyle wheels are fitted with good tyres, and the original hood is excellent condition along with the tonneau cover to keep it neat when enjoying the car with the hood down. , The interior is the original, it is clean and dry and in great condition overall. The dashboard and trims are all in lovely order and undamaged, and the sporty stripey seats are the original, with just a little baggyness to the covering as you would expect. , I have just had the twin SU carbs tuned up by my old school mechanic, so it is starting and running really well with great power delivery. It has a recent new exhaust with that distinctive throaty sound. , On the road it behaves very well, it accelerates nicely through the gears, the suspension is compliant with no knocks or bangs and it pulls up nicely under braking. Under the bonnet is very clean, neat and tidy and largely original with evidence of some maintenance and parts replaced as required in recent times. , The car is now tax and MOT exempt, and obviously qualifies for classic car insurance, so a simple and cost effective ownership prospect. These rubber bumper cars are starting to come into their own now, with a new wave of 70s and 80s children experiencing their own nostalgia relating to them! To sum up this is an extremely attractive and usable example of this ever popular practical classic, it is in fabulous overall condition, ultra original, ultra low milage and will be sure to gain much admiration and enjoyment on the roads and at shows for years to come. , Part exchange considered and nationwide delivery available.
