With us now at RFH Classics we are delighted to offer this truly outstanding 1970 (H) MGB GT, a car that quite simply stands apart from the crowd and is without question one of the cleanest GTs we have had the pleasure of offering for sale in many years. , Finished in beautiful Alpine White, the paintwork is of an exceptional standard and makes an immediately impression upon inspection. The bodywork is quite remarkable, with a deep shine along with crisp wing seam joints, excellent sills and all the traditional corrosion prone areas presenting as near perfect. We have carried out a detailed inspection and found no blemishes to note. Panel gaps to the doors, bonnet and boot are of an excellent standard and the doors close with that reassuring ease which speaks volumes about the quality of the bodywork. , The exterior is further enhanced with the original pressed steel road wheels which have been professionally refurbished and feature the period correct chrome wheel centres with matching trims with tyres that are in excellent condition. The chrome work, like the rest of the car, is as close to perfect as you could expect, bar one very small, virtually unnoticeable mark to the rear bumper. , Inside, the car continues to impress to the same degree, the original weave-style seats remain in excellent condition and are complemented by what appear to virtually unworn quality carpets throughout with unmarked black vinyl trim. A Mota-Lita wood and chrome steering wheel adds a tasteful sporting touch to the interior while a period radio discreetly modified to include USB functionality offers modern convenience without spoiling the classic aesthetic. In the rear window there is a lovely original detail in the form of the T Shipside Ltd rear window sticker who we believe were the British Leyland Main Agent of Nottingham that supplied the car new. , Under the bonnet sits the dependable 1.8 litre lead free four cylinder petrol engine that is paired to a four speed manual gearbox complete with fully functioning overdrive for 3rd and 4th gears. The engine bays presentation mirrors that of the exterior clearly demonstrating that the restoration work carried out was undertaken to a very high standard that has stood the test of time. , With the car is a history file that is equally as impressive as the car with it containing extensive old MOT certificates dating back to 1987 along with invoices and receipts dating from the same period. These records detail the restoration parts and paintwork undertaken together with a full list of previous owners, a rare and reassuring level of documentation that adds further credibility to this exceptional car. , This very well maintained MGB GT will offer the new owner a car in outstanding condition with a strong provenance and excellent driving manners that is ready to be enjoyed immediately and for sure will grace any enthusiast collect or car enthusiast alike. , RFH Classics are proud to be Bedfordshires largest independent classic car dealer with over 35 years of experience supplying quality vehicles you can buy with confidence.
