This is the Lancia Stratos HF Volumex built by the famed bespoke UK car builders Retro Power this car was crafted using a Lister Bell kit, recognised for its superior quality and design. The body showcases a unique bronze-gold-orange colour inspired by the Lancia Stratos Zero concept car, its appearance is streamlined with internally mounted fixtures, avoiding awkward exterior-mounted metal catches for a smoother look. The headlights are upgraded to JW Speaker projector type, while the rear lights are aftermarket units from the Lotus Evora, this all adds to the distinctive design. The car is equipped with cooling vents ears for efficient engine temperature control, complemented by custom alloy wheelsâ€8x17in at the front and a substantial 12x17in at the rear. Make no mistake this whole build was over 2 years in the making and the standard and build quality is impeccable. Under the bonnet, the power is sourced from an Alfa Romeo ‘Busso’ 3.2 V6 24v. The engine has undergone a complete rebuild with forged components and low-compression pistons. An Eaton M112 supercharger from a Jaguar XJC, along with a custom charge-cooled inlet manifold, contributes to the performance enhancement. The modified Ford Mondeo V6 tensioner and idler assembly, along with a billet mount and bespoke crank pulley all add to a very robust setup, and all done to achieve at least 400bhp at 1bar. The gearbox is from a Toyota MR2, its imbued with trick Quaife internals, chosen for its strength and ‘end-on’ configuration. The exhaust system is a custom one-off stainless steel by Simpson. It was a demand from the client that the car be fitted with air conditioning, traction control and an ABS braking system, all of which have most likely never been seen in a car of this type.
