Daimler V8 -

1964 Daimler 250 V8 , It is without doubt one of the best body shells that you will ever come across. It needs absolutely no welding , The floors inside look almost like they did when coming out the factory , The sills and jacking points are in excellent condition and the fronts were replaced by a company for the previous owner who spent 1500 on the welding, The doors and rest of the body are in great condition, no nasty rot on the panels at all, door shuts also in great condition , There is a full brand new chrome moulding set included which cost over £800 from sng Barrett, Also included is a set of body rubbers and front and rear screen seals and an under bonnet soundproofing kit, The front brakes have been uprated to four pot callipers with new discs and the rear callipers have been overhauled and new discs and pads fitted along with a new master cylinder , Braided brake lines have been fitted and all other brake pipes renewed, New rear shock absorbers have been fitted along with numerous steering rods and joints, The car has a full stainless steel exhaust , The carburettors have been completely rebuilt by Chris Rowe who was the chief engineer at SU at a cost of £650, they have been fitted but will need setting up properly and balancing , A new starter has been fitted , The car has electronic ignition supplied by Rod Jolley along with new HT leads ,plugs and plug extensions, Just been fitted with a full set of brand new splined hubs and correct Daimler spinners along with five completely reconditioned wire wheels done by Richard at Tudor Wheels, new tyres and inner tubes , Also included is a set of Coombs rear arches along with the original spats which are in great order, The seats will require some reconditioning but still look good as i like the original ware and tear look, Ive fitted a full new carpet set recently , All woodwork has been painted in gloss black to a nice standard which i have nearly completed fitting, the dash looks great, gives the car a fresher look inside , Headlining needs replacing although i was going to dye it black to go with the rest of the interior which again i think would look great, Was painted very poorly some 20 years ago but oddly this has preserved the metalwork so not such a bad thing after all , All in all a great project that doesnt need hundreds of hours and thousands of pounds worth of welding that mainly just needs bodywork which is mostly just a good block flat in most places and a nice fresh coat of paint then all the new chrome trims and new rubber seals fitting, this will be a very special solid car!!
