1983 Audi Coupe GT 5S. , This unique and incredibly rare example of the most desirable Audi Coupe is one of approximately only twenty three left currently registered on the UK roads, has covered a mere 39438 miles from new. , The first owner purchased the car new from Audi main dealers ‘Links Garages’ Buxton 1st August 1983. When he sadly passed, the car was taken off the road and dry stored in a centrally heated garage for approximately twenty years until ownership was transferred to the gentleman’s son who only used it for a few months in 1997 when the car was returned to its cosy garage. Ownership was then transferred to a devoted Audi enthusiast in 2012 who treasured the car until its last owner of ten years acquired it who desired only the best most original example available. , To find another in this condition would be very difficult, if not impossible. The originality is unmatched in every respect. The original ‘Zermatt’ Siler paintwork is pristine and virtually unmarked. Amazingly the usually threadbare cloth seat coverings commonly fitted to Audi Coupe GT’s of this era are virtually as new, finished in the original ’Karo’ tweed. The majority of this model interiors have suffered from premature wear and in most cases re trimmed in the incorrect material hugely detracting from the originality, never to be recreated. The arm rests, door cards and headlining are very much like new. The dashboard is free of any cracks or marks, the switchgear and dials all feel crisp and precise, working as intended. The car retains its original Audi branded floor mats and a period correct ‘Blaupunkt Mannheim’ radio cassette. Original Audi alloy wheels in excellent condition shod with all recently renewed matching tyres. , The detailed history file with the car includes a full service, cam belt within the last four hundred miles and new stainless steel exhaust along with many other service invoices, receipts including a very nice quality tailored, piped car cover etc. Previous Mot’s and correspondence from previous owners.
