A very low mileage example of one of the great poster cars, finished in Grey over Orange. The Lamborghini Miura can be credited with creating the supercar as we know it today; a car that so radically changed car design in the late 60s, that its influence can still be seen in the design of some of the modern hypercars we see currently released. The final and arguably the most famous iteration of the Miura was the P400 SV by Bertone. The SV was revealed in 1971 and featured a revised version of the transversely-mounted 4 litre V12 engine as found in the preceding P400 S and P400 models. The adjustments included different cam timing and larger Weber carburettors, increasing power to 385 hp, enough to accelerate the SV to 60mph in under 6 seconds and on to a top speed of 180mph. Just 150 examples of the Miura SV were produced. The example we are pleased to offer rolled off the production line in Sant'Agata in 1972 and was delivered new to the Saudi Royal Family. Because of the important status of the buyer, Lamborghini fitted two aero canards to the front of this car, 1 of just 2 cars to have this addition. This being a later car, it also featured the separation of its engine and gearbox oils through the means of a split sump system, 1 of 96 cars to utilise this. In the early 2000's, whilst valuing assets in a large warehouse owned by the Saudi Royal Family in Riyadh, the car was found underneath a hoard of cardboard boxes - reading only 3800 kms. The car was bought and exported to the USA in 2005, for full and warranted restoration works at Boblieff Motorcars. The car was completed in 2007, having undergone a full nut and bolt restoration, with the colour changed to the striking colour scheme of Metallic Grey over an Orange leather interior. When the car was completed, the unoriginal colour scheme was a hit, even with noted Miura historian and concours judge Joe Sackey, who after seeing it said the paint colour should be called "Grigio Fantastico Metallizzato". The restoring owner decided to sell soon after as it was sold to the heir to a sprinkler manufacturing company, living in the Pacific Palisades, in the spring of 2008. He retained the car until the Autumn of 2010 whereupon it was sold to European investor and sent to Joe Macari Classics, arriving early 2011 and being UK registered that same Summer. Since Boblieff restored the car some 13 years ago, it is now reading 5759kms, meaning it has travelled less than 2,000kms since it was found in Riyadh (and subsequently restored), thus making it the lowest original mileage Miura SV in the world and a true collectors' item. Please call today to make an appointment to inspect this very special Miura SV.
